Local scientific journals caught up in the success of the successful

The production of scientific knowledge is an important activity for the development of countries, and the dissemination of this knowledge, through specialized journals, is a characteristic of the 21st century university. In the Latin American context, the vast majority of scientific journals are public, edited by local universities in each nation (Pire, 2015).
