This article aims to reflect on and outline paths forward regarding a relevant historical event in higher education, which is conveniently situated a decade before the centenary of social service in Mexico, in order to understand its origins, meaning, and the value we currently give it, and what dimensions we should channel so that it becomes a true formative and rewarding experience in our higher education institutions.
